We believe that no child should be forced to study outside, or in a dangerous environment. With access to a good education, children can escape poverty.

Across rural Uganda, many children have to choose between getting an education and being safe. Without classrooms, they are forced to study under trees, in all weather. They are exposed to the elements, distracted, and unable to learn. For those who do have some shelter, it is often unstable, with holes in the ceiling that let the rain in, leaving children cold and wet, and ruining their work.

In sub-Saharan Africa, 35 million primary age children are out of school. We're building safe and secure classrooms, so that children can focus on their learning, and their futures.

Spotlight on: WECO Uganda Schools

Welcome to WECO Kindergarten School in Kirinda, Masaka district. This is how the school looked in 2019.

One of the students said: "Pupils were exposed to too much sunshine during teaching hours, since they were held under trees and semi permanent wooden classrooms. There were no desks. There was too much dodging of lessons because of the state of the school which looked poor.

With the help of volunteers from around the world we managed to build three permanent classrooms, a kitchen, latrines, books and desks and a playground, so that children can stay happy and healthy while learning.

Here's how it looks now!

We are always motivated and poised towards betterment of children who are leading miserable lives in the impoverished areas of Africa. Your donations can help us achieve our aim.

When classrooms don’t have enough desks, children are either forced to sit five on a bench meant for two students, or sit on the floor.
